* Metal Smith: Human bodies were never meant to be survive the agony those of us locked within the forge room underwent. Screams that died into soft whimpers and moans of pain as the Metal Smith took each of us to fashion into forms that would please our Keeper and enhance what talents we may have once had as humans and grant new abilities we didn't understand. All we knew was the last glints of seeing our human forms stripped or molded into new caught within the flash of metal about the room and worse for those who looked up, a ceiling of mirrors reflecting back what was no longer human. I was perhaps one of the lucky ones. Left mostly human but metal and jewels infused into my flesh. My back molded into wings of a dragon, marking me as my Keeper's pet and part of his treasure trove of keepsakes to toil at his whim. | * Metal Smith: Human bodies were never meant to be survive the agony those of us locked within the forge room underwent. All I knew to keep passing of time was food came, things we were given for tools or an array of items to shape to be judged. Some people remained, others vanished either displeasing the Keeper or maybe sold to another. All I knew was I had to stay alive, find a way out of this hell, and maybe escape back home. After a time, I realized we had a series of guards and other changelings loyal to the Keeper who believed we were far too stupid to pay attention to them talking or paying attention to their patterns. That moment came finding bags of loot stolen from another Keeper spilling into the vault room and having several of the pets sort it. I found two tokens that quickly found their way into the folds of my clothing. A small arrowhead and a musty looking old blade. It now became a waiting game of opportunity to escape. |

This is especially true at parties where they take great pleasure in trying to impress one another or gain favor. It was one of these parties I was taken to with the purpose to show off my jewelry skill in the hopes to put an old bet to rest it seems on who had a better pet. In the midst of their bickering and recalling those who passed on before my time, I slipped away to find a room with a mirror that shimmered. Upon touching it, I found it ripple and reveal a green forest that looked like trees from earth. My heart swelled, a backwards glance over my shoulder to make sure I wasn't seen, and then the jump into freedom.

Standing on a path that I was fortunate enough to be found by the Riders as part of their patrol area. I didn't care at the moment there was this huge panther with waving appendages. All I cared was the Rider wasn't a Fae or another Changeling that perhaps I found at least some semblance of humanity once more. I was taken back to the Freehold and spent time being instructed I was free and yet the world I remembered has fallen in a great war.
