Description

Keshet appears to be a Jew in their late 30s, with a heavyset feminine body type but androgynous clothing. They are 5'5", very pale-skinned for a mortal, with dark, haunted eyes, and black hair in the sidesweep-and-undercut style so common among non-binary queers. While usually dressed in a high-quality but understated black suit over a black shirt, and hamsa earrings or pendant, they contrast this with a very punk leather choker - the kind with the bondage ring in front, and spikes or chains to the sides - and black lipstick.

Timeline

• 1936 - Born Warsaw, Poland; originally known as Nadzieja Zdeb.
• 1944 - Escapes the backlash to the Warsaw Uprising thanks to Members of House Melamed, and goes to live in Brooklyn.
• 1954-1958 - Attends college at the Washington Square campus of NYU.
• 1966 - Becomes a blood doll and formal student to Zalman-Rose Melamed. Legal birth year of their current identity.
• 1976 - Ghouled by Zalman-Rose.
• 1996 - Takes a new mundane identity, Keshet Katz, due to ghoul age issues, and comes out publicly as non-binary.

Bio

Keshet is known in mortal circles as a talented embroiderer who works on restoration for museums, and takes commissions from the fashion world as well as places of worship. Others know them as a member of the queer community. A very few know that they control substantial wealth, largely hidden behind corporations and trusts, and provide considerable support to a number of LGBTQ-focused organizations.

To kindred society, they are also the long-term ghoul and student of Zalman-Rose Melamed, slated for future embrace as a Tremere of House Melamed, though it's increasingly surprising they have yet to be embraced. They are known for flawless manners, and as one of the members of Project Bloodnet, for their expertise with both hacking and social engineering. Those who have interacted with them more directly may be aware that they are both a medium and a seer.

• If you do the math, Keshet would had to have had their first major appearance change done before Virgil and Evangeline were members of the Camarilla.
  • Pretty much everyone in NYC actually knows this... and says nothing out of a general liking for their Prince and/or support for trans rights.
• Keshet's sudden fallout with House Melamed was the result of Zalman-Rose keeping them a ghoul so long.
  • No, it was because "El" Bisset-Caesarea threatened to poach them.
  • No, it was because Nissim Melamed deemed them unsuitable for the Embrace.
  • No, it was all some sort of long-standing Malkavian prank.
• Keshet was mentally ill and shouldn't have been Embraced Malkavian, even if they're proving remarkably suited to it.
  • They were, but it was actually the effect of a curse, and cured by lifting it.
  • They were, and it wasn't a curse... it was possession by a spectre or some evil spirit - with similar results.
