Further Information
Mace is an Ex-Sabbat Salubri Warrior based out of San Jose, CA.
- 1835 - Embraced into The Sabbat, in The Old World. (France? Germany? Historical Records Unclear)
- 1840s - In New York you can Be A New Man
- 1848 - The Coalition War (Soutwest Region Canon Historical Event)
- Whenever The Sabbat took territory, they would be zealous in their purges. Mace didn't fight to capture cities during this time; he came in after the fighting was done, in order to look for proof of heresy or infernalism in the ruins, investigating captured havens and chantries, interrogating retainers, and following clues to root out corruption that The Camarilla had left in its wake.
- Early 20th Century - A monster, stylized after a wrathful angel of God, Mace roots out infernal conspiracies and puts the wicked to the sword. While mistrustful of the ease with which the leadership of the sect can declare their political rivals heretics, the combination of cult and vinculum makes Mace’s loyalty absolute.
- Late 20th Century - Obsesses over Demons and their followers, neglecting other duties of The Inquisition. Begins to have contact with scholars and warriors outside of The Sabbat. Increasingly frustrated by The Inquisition’s split focus -- trying to police internal heresies that are not nearly as much a threat as actual literal demons -- Mace begins to share information with Infernal Hunters in other sects, and abuses his position within the Militant Order in order to protect them.
- 2000-2010 - The Southern Crusade (Southwest Region Canon Historical Event)
- Participates in The Southern Crusade, not as a frontline combatant, but as an Inquisitor, purging corruption in man and vampire alike.
- 2009 - Vanishes, assumed dead.
- 2015 - Resurfaces in San Jose, CA, Committed as an Anarch
When the Salubri were admitted to The Anarch Movement in 2015, Mace re-emerged in San Jose, the Anarch Domain of the San Francisco Bay Area. Now able to live openly, Mace has quickly grown in confidence. He has a lot of big ideas about justice and progress, the future of his newly-unified clan, and what The Anarch Movement could amount to as a National Organization.
Mace is inflexible belief in his own sense of right and wrong. He will rigorously challenge other characters who he perceives as behaving badly.
Mace has sometimes been spotted as part of the retinue of members of House Apollo, including Cassandra herself.
Mace has a genial side to him, a dry sense of humour, and a quiet interest in law. He plays the trumpet in the style of a young Chet Baker, judges people by their actions, and is forthright to the point of detriment.
- Mace loves to persecute and hurt people who he views as evil. It's all just an excuse for violence.
- Mace never forgot how to be An Inquisitor, and doesn’t know how to stop rooting around in other people’s secrets.
- A rare non-Gargoyle with Visceratika, some call Mace The Stone Angel.
- Mace is obsessed with finding out what happened to all of old Sabbat friends who answered The Jackal's call.
- "In the years since The Salubri were finally allowed to live openly, I have been approached many times by vampires wishing to make apologies for their inaction during the years when we were hunted and maligned. *I should have done more,* is a common sentiment, or else *I should have known better.* To those who seek forgiveness, my answer is always: Help the next group instead. Help the next person instead. Resist the next injustice instead." - Mace
- "Persecuting people because of their religion is bad, but persecuting Infernalists because of their religion is good, because their religion is evil." - Mace on Double Standards
- "I could hug him all day but like. I get the sense that might be a tiny bit dangerous. Only makes the prospect more appealing~" Finley Welles
- "Beware the sadist who clothes himself in the raiment of justice." - Zoltan Vancura
- "Man, I get that like he's dangerous. But like, I've talked to him he's cool. I also wouldn't mind getting to know him better." - Kenneth Bilge
- "Not sure if telling him what my first experience with a Salubri Warrior was like would make him sympathetic to me or furious at his former...employers. Maybe both. I do believe that if anyone tried to harm me in front of him, they would not be long for this world." Stephen Cox
- "I hear you whispering. I see the looks you're giving him and I understand, really. To know that you're staring down the barrel of something that has always inspired fear, which was first snuck into your presence clothed in lamb's wool, but has been revealed for what it is. You're not wrong, but you're not right, either. You are frightened because you have never met a creature as pure and unbridled as my brother. You feel fear because you know that you are exactly the sort of person that the light of his eye will sear and punish." - Marcel Trevisani
- "It's a new world we find ourselves in these days. Change is often unsettling, but if it can turn enemies to friends in this way, I welcome it." Nissim Melamed
- In Response to REDACTED "No, it's like liquid fire being poured down the well of your soul. Everything ignites and the magma flows so thoroughly that the crevices and cracks I've once deserted that I feel so completely now. It's just like Mace to make me feel there is no part of myself that can be truly hidden under the incandescence of what he inspires in me." - Banks
- "Mace has been brother, my Inquisitor, my Anarch. Tonight, he is my friend. I changed my name to hide from his accusations. For the first time in over a century, I would trust him with my life." - Calico
- "The Curse is broken: Mace saw the infernalists approach, and he most definitely did not die alone. Of all the powers you gave me, sire, I am most thankful for choice." - Joshua
- "We really lost a good one with Mace gone. Fuck." – Fiadh
- "They chose wrong. My heart will always belong in the next life." - Banks
