Description

Neith is of primarily Irish and Turkish descent on her mother’s side and Moroccan and Spanish on her father’s. Her lupus form, which she rarely takes, appears very similar to an African Golden Wolf, with a stripe of black fur along the center of her back, a short bristly tail, and greyish fur with hints of red along the legs. Her lupus body is long and lean with a long snout and tall, straight ears. In Homid, where she spends most of her time when not fighting in Glabro, she has shoulder-length, slightly curly shiny black hair that she usually wears tucked under a hat or hood and tan skin pulled tight over sharp bones. Her eyes are piercing and always searching and her frame is tall, wiry, and athletic with ribs slightly visible against her skin. She wears dark makeup that is closer to eyeblack than cosmetics and which frames her burning eyes, and she almost always dresses in dark layered ponchos, denim and leather. Her glabro form has piercing golden eyes which gleam almost red in sun or firelight, wider and even more striking than the black pools of her Homid form. Her skin becomes a sandstone grey-tan, closer to that of her wolf form, and her ears extend into the long, keen tufted points of an African Golden Wolf. Her limbs become long, whipstrong cords of muscle and her fingers become longer, ending in blunt claws. Her maw comes to the resemble that of her mask, with sharp fangs and a longer jaw with which to bite anything that makes it past her guns. Her rifle, wand and motorcycle almost never leave her side, and the remainder of her meager possessions fit in the saddlebags of her bike. Her only accessories other than her well-worn hats are black bandannas she wears over her face and a wolf-skull mask she wears to hide her identity and strike fear in her prey.

Timeline
  • 1997: Birth year, under a Theurge moon.
  • 1999-2008: Raised on the road by her father Isaac Duran, a Silent Strider kinfolk, scholar, and bookseller. Her mother and sister would meet up with them when they could and she saw them every few weeks or month during this time.
  • 2008: The last time she sees her mother and sister when they leave for the Kalahari to fight the Wyrm’s forces and never return.
  • 2010: Isaac leaves Neith with Layla’s kinfolk brother Finn and leaves for Egypt, pursuing rumors that Layla and Moira survived the Kalahari and went on an important and dangerous mission against the Cult of Sutekh in Egypt. He leaves against the advice of Finn, but says he will be back soon and seek garou assistance once he gets a lead on where they are and if they are alive. He does not return and is presumed dead or to have answered the Weaver’s call.
  • 2010-2012: Neith is raised on the road by her uncle and his family in a cramped RV. They love her and treat her like their own child, but grow increasingly worried as her visions get continuously worse. They think it is a sign of her First Change, and it is, but her visions are also a portent of the Weaver’s Song.
  • June 2012: Her adoptive family starts traveling to the nearest Sept, River’s Crossing, in anticipation of Neith’s First Change. They do not make it.
  • First Change: July, 2012. The night The Weaver Sang, 15 years old. Neith experiences her First Change and her kinfolk family hears the song. Her aunt and cousins are taken; but she slays her uncle in her First Change as he tries to join his family in The Weaver's embrace.
  • August 2012-2016: Found after her First Change by members of The Sept of River’s Crossing outside Princeton. Raised there until her Rite of Passage.
  • Rite of Passage: 2016, 19 years old. Earns her deed name tracking and killing a leech using her mother’s first fetish-revolver. She takes and purifies the vampire’s motorcycle and turns it into a fetish of her own. She tries to take off and begin traveling, but is forbidden due to the danger and told she can only leave the Sept accompanied by a Fostern. She continues studying as a Theurge and tinkering with her motorcycle, taking whatever opportunities to travel she can find by acting as a scout and assistant to Vasily Albinus.
  • Fall 2018, Fostern Rank Trial: 21 years old. Finally permitted to leave the Sept alone for her Fostern Trial, she delivers a message through hostile territory to the Sept of the Seven Hills. While there, she hunts a Wyrm-corrupted bloodsucker with Aleks, who treats her like a little sister, and puts to rest the tormented spirit of one of the bloodsucker’s victims. Completing the traditional Strider challenges of delivering a message, putting a wraith to rest, and defeating a creature of the Wyrm, she is declared Fostern. Proving herself a capable hunter, she is given her carbine, to which she binds a Spirit of Vengeance, turning it into a fetish.
  • 2018-2023: Neith delivers supplies and messages between septs across the northeast on her motorcycle, her route guided by her visions. Along the road she meets Sally Ride, who teaches her "the fine art of distraction."
  • 2021: Neith travels to Boston, running messages for and fighting alongside the local caerns. While there, she meets Against All Odds, who sees the way she works with the Spirits and teaches her to care for them and not just see them as a resource for fetishes. Wanting his tutelage, she also learns ASL from him over the course of their time working together.
  • December 2023: Arrives at Fitzgerald Lake, where she reconnects with her old mentors Sally and Aleks and reconnects with Maddie, who she knew before her First Change and Maddie's Bite. She travels through Springfield in the Umbra with member of the local sept and witnesses a transition in Sept leadership and a dispute between comrades, convincing her to rededicate herself to fulfilling her role as a Theurge and more than just a scout, wandering hunter, and messenger. She asks Springfield's Master of the Rite, Jeremy Blackpaw, if he will teach her, and he agrees on the condition she follow his three rules: chief among them 'Don't Be Incompetent.'
  • May 4th 2024: Realizing that that the Sept of the Deepest Den felt like not only the one place where she could learn to be a proper theurge but one worth fighting and dying for, she took the perhaps uncharacteristic for a Silent Strider move of swearing herself to the Sept and Beaver, meaning wherever she may travel, she can never swear herself to another sept. While there, she joins John Holt 's quest for Thunderbird.
  • May 24th-28th: Attends the Regional Concolation organized by Jenny Morris and joins the battle against the Outsider-infected Hobomok, assisting in stopping its minions' efforts to destroy the dam and drawing first blood on the Incarna with her fetish carbine. Along with her packmate John Holt, she secures the aid of an army of Wraiths led by a Silver Fang ancestor, and frees the Incarna Giant Beaver (now also known as Great Beaver, to his enjoyment) from inside Karsh.
  • July 6th 2024: Earns the moniker "Worthy" from delivering the deathblow to the Nexus Crawler-infected Incarna Alantow, brother of Hobomok, during the Great Hunt Moot at the Sept of the Deepest Den.
  • November 2nd, 2024: Fresh from Neith's quest for Adren attempting to retrieve Albrecht's 1st Klaive, Neith Ward and Jenny Morris visit the Sept of River's Crossing to assist with local efforts against Magadon, which Neith assisted with by scouting the previous month. After feeling three explosions, Neith and Jenny accompanied the members of the local sept to downtown Princeton where they encountered a spiritually toxic, wyrm-tainted rage-spreading mist emanating from inside of a warhead. Neith was impressed by Jenny's efforts to protect the victims of the gas, who they learned could be saved in a Circle of Gaia's cleansing. The group encountered a group of fomori worshipping the warhead, and with Neith using her engineering knowledge to discover how safely disable the warhead manually and members of the sept also disabling it electronically, all that was left was the fomori. As members of the sept interrogated the last surviving fomori, Neith attempted to use her draining wand to extract the corruption. While the host was unsalvageable, the newborn spirit inside them was purified and brought back to the sept.
Bio

Neith spends her life delivering supplies and messages between the septs of the East Coast on her fetish-crafted motorcycle, "Inevitability." Most of her messages come from the denizens of the Caerns she travels between. But some of the most significant come in the form of visions and portents: usually of doom. When she believes her visions demand she will abandon her travels for a time and throw herself completely into warfare against the enemies of Gaia or those she believes her visions may warn of. If she believes her visions call her elsewhere, she will divert from her routes or change her path, relentlessly hurtling with the Strider's signature gifts after whatever doom she believes her visions warn of. Sometimes she is wrong, others too late. But occasionally, they've saved lives.

To always better prepare for the next disaster and to equip herself in lieu of her blunted claws, Neith is a talented fetish-crafter, particularly for weapons. Seeking to serve Gaia as more than just an itinerant messenger, doom-prophet, and monster-hunter, she has dedicated herself to become a "proper Theurge" and learning not just everything she needs to know to effectively serve her new home, but the mystical traditions of her tribe and perhaps even how to break their curse. Having now sworn herself to the Sept of the Deepest Den, she has begun an apprenticeship under Jeremy to learn all she can about being a theurge.

Having settled into a defined circuit between the two septs of Massachusetts and the Sept of River's Crossing in New Jersey, Neith has recently been looking for pack who can travel, share information, and fight alongside to stop her horrible visions from coming to past. While her visions have been quiet of late, she has recently sworn herself to Beaver and taken The Sept of the Deepest Den as her home and joined John Holt's quest for Thunderbird, creating a new pack...well, a new Pride...alongside the Bubasti chronicler Caleb.
