History

  • 1426: Born as Cassian Swain to English Lord Godwin Swain and Lady Honora of Scotland, he was an only child as his mother died before she could give birth to other children.
  • 1440: Lord Godwin marries Lisabetta Rossellini, a prominent and powerful figure known to be a part of the Giovanni family. As part of the arrangement, Cassain is promised to the family in return for Lord Godwin’s promise of silence that he will not mention the family, nor seek to interfere with it in any way. Cassain is, understandably, confused by this. But, not wishing to upset or loose the favor of his father, he goes willingly, his natural curiosity overriding his sense of loss.
  • 1461: In the time that he has become a part of his new family, Cassian’s natural curiosity and desire to seek out knowledge impresses certain members of the Giovanni. He has proven to be quite adept at finding and securing obscure lore and information, and for getting to the truth of a matter. Although easily excitable due to his curiosity and thirst for knowledge, Cassain seems fairly content where he is. These factors, combined with a deep showing of loyalty that Cassain has shown, definitively weigh in to the decision made by the Giovanni Clan’s hierarchy to share with Cassain their deeper secrets. They explain the true nature of their Clan, and ghoul him as an expression of their faith in him and their promise to teach him the deeper truths of existence and the true mysteries that lie beyond death. He eagerly accepts, changing his name to “Casimir” to reflect the new life and journey he is about to embark upon.
  • 1530: As the still fairly new Promise is now in effect, Casimir begins to meet more and more Kindred of various clans from the Camarilla Sect. He finds their Traditions and structure fascinating, almost grounding to him as his mind growingly becomes more eager for knowledge and truth, teetering on an edge he doesn’t fully understand.
  • 1811: Casimir has been slowly, but steadily, going down the rabbit hole. His pursuit of knowledge of all kinds seems somewhat insatiable at this point. His once tidily arranged room is now wallpapered with all manor of esoteric and obscure trappings. And, in his desire to learn even more, he’s started trying to look even deeper at the patterns of perceived reality. The fact that he can’t see the patterns frustrates him. A matter that doesn’t seem to be lost on the Camarilla Malkavians he has come to know.
  • 1831: Casimir’s descent into madness reaches a critical point. Having started practicing Haruspicy (among other wild divination practices), his Giovanni family is now saddened, frustrated, and at a loss of what to do. With very few choices available to them, they take the offer of the Camarilla Malkavians to take him in an attempt to find him the answers…and help…that he needs.
  • 1835: Casimir’s condition continues to deteriorate, despite the efforts of the Malkavians to instruct him. They come to the conclusion that his still human mind is incapable of the understanding necessary to process the things he has seen and seeks. The decision is made to embrace him.
  • 1840: Though the decision was made to embrace Casimir, it took some time before a suitable Sire was found. Many of the Clan were fearful that embracing him may send him completely over the edge, thus angering the Giovanni who entrusted his care to them. It was through the Ananke that someone stepped forward to make him their Childer. This proved to be quite the perfect match.
  • 1940: It’s been 100 years since Casimir’s embrace. The madness, as it was called then, has been replaced by a calm acceptance and deeper understanding. The Giovanni, it would seem, were right to give his care over to the Malkavians. Even moreso, the Ananke that embraced him proved to be an insightful, empathetic, and wise teacher. As the 2nd World War begins to rage across the planet, Casimir’s talents in seeking out knowledge and truth, combined with what he had learned ritually from the Giovanni, comes in handy to aid those of the Camarilla. His loyalty having been tested and proven, he is released from his Accounting, becoming a fully Acknowledged member of the Ivory Tower.
  • 1946: With World War 2 at an end, Casimir decides to journey overseas to the United States with the intent of learning new things in a new country, especially the country that broke the Atomic code.
  • 1998: The Great Prank is revealed, giving Casimir access to the power of Dementation. He giddily plays with this, almost too a fault, but begins to understand the power’s uses towards gaining insight…and giving it.
  • 2011: Casimir finds himself in Orlando, FL when the Brujah are officially ejected from the Camarilla. One particularly stunning Brujah catches his eye, her passion for her clan only equaled by her anguish over seeing her beloved clan being removed from the Ivory Tower. He approaches her in an attempt to provide comfort and insight, and they strike up an unusual, but lasting, friendship. By the end of the year, Persephone of Argos and Casimir are close friends, both wanting the best for the Tower, and to see each other reach their fullest potential.
  • 2021: In a wonderful turn of events, Persephone of Argos is welcomed back into the Camarilla, albeit as the solitary member of the Brujah to be able to do so. She quickly seizes Praxis over the domain of St. Petersberg, FL, naming Casimir as her Seneschal.
  • 2022:
  • Fate guides Casimir before Justicar Lucinde, much to his delight. During a conversation that has more turns than a Formula 1 race, Casimir leaves with new knowledge and new purpose.
  • By the beginning of September, 2022, Casimir is chosen as Servire to Archon SOL.
