The chiefest and greatest of calamities was born in Chatsworth, California in 1965. When he was ten years old, he got a copy of The Stooges' self-titled album. Telling his mother that he wanted to learn to play the guitar, she makes the greatest mistake in history, and buys her son a used bass and an amp. By the time he was sixteen, Asher was able to play both the bass and guitar with a considerable degree of ability.
Upon graduating high school, instead of matriculating to UCLA, Asher quickly finds himself part of LA's music scene, finding work as a house or session musician.
Asher is now someone-who is probably not emotionally mature-described as being more pissed off than John Doyle, and existing in a continual neon-stained nightlife with people like Slash and Ginger Lynn. Asher was drinking as much as the next guy-if the next guy was Guns n' Roses. He had a seven bottle of vodka a day habit, and never said no if rich assholes had coke or heroin. He would have just as likely become another victim of LA's underbelly of excess if Hattie Vermeyen had not embraced him.
Aggressive, tempestuous, and always pissed off; Cassandra decides to teach Asher responsibility by means of making him responsible for her ghoul, Lady Bennet. Like a child with a puppy, he ensures that she is taken care of, mentored, and protected. The tactic works. As he is no longer a maelstrom of chaos, Asher is assigned to the position of Sheriff of Roanoke, VA. He served the city faithfully, acting as the Prince's Wrath, a lurking threat of violence to be delivered upon those who would displease the Elder Ventrue.
On Halloween night, 2011, the Prince of Roanoke, Julian De Soliel hosted a "Ventrue Ball" in order to "highlight and showcase the opulent wealth and beauty of clan Ventrue." The Prince made it a point of slighting clan Toreador by not allowing any Toreador to contribute any artwork for the exhibits. Asher instead hosted a free all ages concert just outside of Elysium, inviting all members of the Rose to perform or exhibit. Asher and his assembled supergroup [perform] in Halloween costumes resembling other musicians. Asher wore a white Elvis jumpsuit, Kravitz-esque goggle-styled sunglasses, and an afro wig.
Later that night, the Prince was taken by the Beckoning. In an effort to stop him, Asher challenges his praxis by saying, "If you walk out that door, you are not contesting my claim to praxis of this city." The Elder Ventrue just looked at him before walking out into the night to never be seen again.

- "His true art is in his fisticuffs, you can hear that in his music." - Miguel Cantone
- "As a Prince... stern but fair. Rough around the edges. Edgy. Like the good music he taught me to appreciate." - Orion
- "I keep seeing you all, lolloping about, claiming how you were at the Treaty of Tyr, and how you were at the Convention of Thornes, and how you were at the Crucifixion. Good for you. I was at Woodstock; and, it wasn't even one of the two good Woodstocks. It was Woodstock `99. I got drunk, kicked Kid Rock's ass, and then set fire to one of the control towers. It was a great weekend." - Asher Black
- "He is one of the more fun personalities of our line. Someone has to lead the shenanigans." - Fiona Bizet
- "He sings well for a Toreador. I almost mistook him for my own kin." - Aria Delmar
- "If you're going to be a screwup, don't come here. Just don't. He doesn't suffer fools gladly. He doesn't suffer fools at all. Word to the--ehhh, whatever you are." - Lydia Moore
