Description:

Calliope is an average-looking, yet somewhat tall girl of about 5'10", with mixed European heritage, blue eyes and long red hair. The way she carries herself depends on which of her alters are currently fronting in her 5-alter Dissociative Identity Disorder system, and can vary from timid and quiet, to loud and violent depending on the circumstance. Calliope runs her family's wine vineyard and has a Doctorate in Psychology, serving as a therapist for other Kindred, especially those with dissociative disorders.

    • Danielle Randall — Calliope's mortal sister — was born. Her mother is 16 years old at the time.

    • James Randall — Calliope's mortal brother — was born.
  • 1935
    • James Randall dies at the hands of Calliope's father.
      • Influential strings are pulled and John is not held accountable for James's death.

    • Calliope — originally named Linda — was born.

    • John is a horribly abusive person, and his wife and remaining children are subjected to physical violence with regularity.

    • Sarah Randall commits suicide by hanging at age 24.

1940s

• • 1942 (Body Age: 5)
    • Calliope develops Dissociative Identity Disorder due to the abuse sustained by her father.
    • The first of her alters to emerge calls herself Chloe, and responds with a Fawn response to the trauma endured. The idea being that if she continues to make Daddy happy, she will somehow avoid being hurt.
    • Danielle is repulsed by this turn of events. She doesn't initially recognize that Chloe and Linda are in fact, separate people, and simply views the situation as though Linda is giving in to the horrors wrought by their father.
  • 1945 (Body Age: 8)
    • Chloe is no longer sufficient to keep her father's physical violence at bay, and so another alter emerges — this time a male, calling himself Julian.
    • Julian responds to the trauma with a Fight response. Aggressive and angry, he does poorly in school, lashing out at anyone and anything he can, in a misguided attempt to resolve the trauma brought on by the paternal violence with which he is unable to properly cope. The school system is baffled, refuses to call him anything but Linda, and he continues to suffer.
    • At this point, Danielle catches on to what's happening, horrified.
  • 1948 (Body Age: 11)
    • Danielle abandons the family, fleeing her father's persecution.
    • Unbeknownst to her sister, Danielle is actually embraced into the Choir of Eris, and runs off to join her sire's entourage.

1950s

• • 1950 (Body Age: 13)
    • Once Danielle abandoned her, the Calliope System was forced to endure their father alone. This was untenable to say the least. Julian grew more and more angry with their situation, and resolved to murder their father. Sadly, in the body of a heavily traumatized 13 year old girl, his ability to actually do so was minimal. Frustration ensues, and another alter — a female named Sabine — emerges, and decides that the best way to cope with the trauma is to dissociate from it completely and hyperfocus on planning the perfect murder. Sabine is a very anxious person, fixating solely on her preparations.
  • 1956 (Body Age: 19)
    • After 6 years of calculated planning, the Calliope System finally manages to execute Sabine's expertly crafted plan to murder their father.
    • OOC: How exactly this is achieved is not yet defined, and open to involvement with other PCs.
    • Unbeknownst to the Calliope System, her actions over the past few years are being watched by a local Brujah Anarch, who has taken an interest in her situation as a potential new childe.
  • 1956 - 1961 (Body Age: 19 - 24)
    • Sabine, having executed her plan, shifts gears and fixates on improving their lot in life. She manages to set it up so that the Calliope System inherits her father's self-made fortune — an excellent and wealthy vineyard at their home in Sonoma County, CA — and develops a wide field of influence, both among the Elite and the Underground.

1960s

• • 09/04/1961 (Body Age: 24)
    • Once the Calliope System has more or less stabilized and proven their ability to stand up for their ideals — in this case, ending her father's abuse and amassing her personal fortune — the Brujah makes their move and embraces the Calliope System, deciding that anyone able to pull off such a feat should make an ideal member of the Clan.
  • 1961 - 1969 (Body Age: 24 - 31)
    • The embrace is very traumatic to the Calliope System. Julian struggles greatly with the Brujah Clan weakness, and has a habit of flying into Frenzy whenever provoked. Meanwhile, Chloe fawns all over her new sire — of which the sire is initially fond, until they realize it's a trauma response — and Sabine hyperfocuses to such lengths that she forgets to go out and hunt. The sire begins to regret their choice to embrace such an obviously damaged individual, and Calliope suspects that their sire may plan to kill her as a result. Enter Taylor.
    • Taylor emerges in the system as a Flight response to trauma, but rather than focusing on actually running away, she develops into the ultimate code-switch, becoming anything and everything she feels her sire wants her to be — which eventually extends to everyone, not just her sire. She presumes that she must adapt to every possible person and situation that she encounters, and has very little sense of personal self. Insatiably curious however, she often takes the body on unexpected trips to far away locations — which, frankly, most of the rest of the System views as a manifestation of her Flight response.
    • With their sire more or less mollified now, the Calliope System begins to stabilize. Julian reigns in his anger as best he's able, Sabine relies on the others to hunt and feed, Linda is kept isolated and protected as much as possible, and Taylor... well, Taylor is prone to wandering, but everyone likes her, so it's generally viewed as mostly harmless.
  • 1969
    • Satisfied that the Calliope System finally has things under control, they are released from the Accounting of their sire.

    • Calliope (having changed her legal name at this point), spends most of the 1980s pursuing a doctorate in psychology, deciding that she could fill a niche by acting as a therapist for Kindred with dissociative disorders.
