Henri is a tall man who was embraced as his life and work was beginning to take their toll on him, his hair is cut short and thinning, and his slightly manicured beard is spattered with white. He is rarely the center of attention, but always close by. His wardrobe is mostly muted suits, accentuated with splashes of color and lace or embroidery.
1602: Born in Reims, France
1635: After expanding his family's textile trade throughout Europe he moves to the Netherlands to solve his tulip issue.
1636: Returns to France and quickly remakes the money spent in the Netherlands.
1642: Noticed and ghouled by clan Tremere after he begins to lobby for changes to national laws prohibiting the production and sale of printed fabric.
1654: Presented at court and released in his hometown, while Louis XIV is crowned King.
1654-1740: Travels through Europe, his textile conglomerate giving him the resources, cover, and infrastructure to run errands and deliver letters for the clan.
1740-1800: Mostly missing from kindred society, working on a pet project.
1800: Returns, does not discuss his project, but is much looser with his tongue.
1801: Citing the Concordat of 1801, Henri abruptly leaves Europe for America, settling in Salem, Massachusetts. (Home to America's first yacht)
1826: Expands to Lowell, Massachusetts which becomes America's first large scale mill town.
1864: Pushes into Patterson, New Jersey to give customers the option for a fabric that was not "extruded from the back end of an insect".
1892: Moves to Richmond, Va to take advantage of the booming railroad system.
Born in Reims, France in 1602 into a merchant family, Henri was named after his grandfather. As a young boy he learned the trade, and had an eye for fabric and a mind for logistics. As he came into age he expanded into neighboring Spain and Italy, and by age 30 he had workshops and storehouses in 6 countries in Europe. He proudly boasted to have 47 different petal arrangements in lace or embroidered fabric spread across his textile empire. Sadly a few years later, tulip fever had seized Europe and he was having issues selling the 46 other petal patterns. Refusing to have his life's work ruined by a "fancy onion", he moves to the Netherlands to put a stop to his tulip issue. He dumps most of his personal wealth into bottoming out the tulip market, and less the a year later the tulip market collapses, nearly taking the Netherlands with it. Henri returns to France triumphantly, and recoups his money very quickly as everyone is tired of tulips.
Henri discovers printed fabric, a cheap and simple process that is illegal in France, but legal in England to produce and sell to the US. Henri opens a factory in England to produce bolts and bolts, most are sold to the new world, but some from each batch are stored in hopes of his next scheme coming to fruition. He begins to lobby to change the law prohibiting the manufacturing and sale of printed fabric and he finally perks the interest of clan Tremere.
Henri arrives in kindred society with a bang, waiting for his presentation and release until he could be presented in his hometown on the evening of Louis XIV's coronation. He spends his neonate years as a messanger and errand boy for the clan, using his vast network to accomplish the task much more efficiently than other neonates. in 1740 he steps away from kindred society to focus on a project for the clan, he returns in 1800, but does not speak of his project, nor it's results. Less than a year later, without warning he packs up, sells everything, and moves to America. Settling in Salem, Massachusetts he sets out to recreate what he had in Europe and quickly expands to the newly formed Lowell, Massachusetts. Henri travels through Massachusetts helping to establish other mill towns, and eventually expands into Patterson, New Jersey, figuring he can bring cloth and lace to the center of America's silk production and be the only game in town. While the move was not financially rewarding, the contacts he made proved the decision to be correct.
He continues to expand and decides he needs to find new markets, he settles on Richmond, Va as his new base of operations. The railroad system there continues to grow and offers up trade in the South and West, rather than the small corner of the country that Henry had been concentrated in.
