Chases the Butterflies is the last of the Uktena Banetenders in southeast Texas, and has found herself being granted an unnaturally long lifespan as a result. Born in 1793, she has watched the rise and fall of multiple nations in her little corner of the world.
Although her responsibilities are clear, she continues to fight alongside other Gaians in the war against both Weaver and Wyrm when she can. Known as a particularly spiritual theurge, she also crafts fetishes, helping spirits to join in the fight.
She is easy to spot, as she is most often in her lupus form, with a bright orange collar around her neck to keep the hunters and dogcatchers at bay.
The lupus-born Red Wolf might not be technologically savvy, but she lives in the world she protects. She was a nurse in the Texas War for Independence, and a saloon keeper during Houston's frontier period. She was called in when the great storm bane of 1901 flattened Galveston Island to help contain it. And for the past decade, she has helped fight a war of attrition against the Weaver's forces in Houston.
As with most Banetenders, Chaser almost certainly hears the whispered voices of the banes she tends at all times. It's probably only a matter of time before she succumbs to their promises.
