"Speaks" is a genderqueer (any pronouns) Fianna Galliard, improv performer, actor, sculptor, and artist. Who lost their best friend, crush, and fellow Garou very early on in their time in Garou Society, and is driven to tell her story and the stories of the fallen, so they are not lost to time; fight the enemies of the Earth, the Garou, and Mother Gaia; create and enjoy art; and party and have a good time.
-Avery Park was born on July 19th, 1994 in Belle Glade, Florida The First-Change: -In 2018 Avery attended a camping party out in the woods after an Improv show, with their best friend and crush Joan Porter. Avery and Joan both got a little more drunk than they intended to in such a public setting while “celebrating” a successful performance. As the two walked out of the woods to get a ride home, a group of muggers descended upon them demanding their valuables. The last thing Avery remembers is the group surrounding them. The next morning Avery and Joan awoke nearby each other, covered in the blood and torn remains of their attackers, they had experienced the first change together. (Joan Porter was a Stargazer Ragabash) -Luckily, a small group of Garou were nearby Belle Glade on their way to a caern shard they were looking for in Georgia, and were informed by a spirit of what had taken place. Unfortunately, none of them were Fianna, but they were familiar and taught Avery some things about their tribe. One of them however was a Stargazer like Joan, and taught both her and Avery about their ways Rite of Passage, the First Challenge: -In 2019, the group were able to determine that the shard caern was hidden deep within the swamps of Georgia. Joan and Avery’s Rite of Passage challenge would be to venture into the dangerous rural swamps and wilderness and take back the shard caern from the alligators or whatever else had occupied it. They discovered a strange reptilian monster that had been twisted by the Wyrm, and had to eradicate it from the shard caern, which had nearly been turned into a full desecrated Pit. Luckily the small number of Garou that had taken them under their wings had the knowledge and ability to restore and cleanse the shard caern. The Second Challenge: -Unfortunately, their second challenge was not one they intended to take on so soon. A few months later, in 2020. Agents of the Wyrm attacked the caern shard, this time assisted by strange supernatural creatures with fangs and faces like corpses (a group of Sabbat “Cainites”/Kindred). A Garou was killed, and another injured, but Joan and Avery stepped up and fought off the assault, and Avery healed their injured comrade with their first use of Gaia’s Touch. Disaster Strikes: -If only that had been the end, but only a few months later the undead that had attempted to raid the shard caern with the agents of the Wyrm returned. The group of Sabbat Vampires slaughtered most of the few Garou who remained protecting the place of power, and kidnapped Avery, Joan, and the last of the Garou who had helped foster them from cubs, a Wendigo Ahroun named “Ghost-Stalker of the Night”. The crazed Vampires tried to “break” the three of them, to turn them into war hounds for one of their crusades. They did things like starving them and forcing them to fight off alligators, with some passing mention of “weeding out the weak and testing the strong”. Joan fought back a little too hard during one of these incidents, and while pushing her one of the kindred frenzied and killed Joan without meaning to in a use of excessive force. Avery’s best friend, and maybe the love of their life (but they never got the chance to try) had been ripped away from them. The blood boiled inside their veins and Avery reached a heightened state of rage that they had never experienced before. They were able to break “Ghost-Stalker of the Night” free and together they lashed out against their tormentors and eviscerated every single vampire that was there at the time. Ghost-Stalker of the Night was badly wounded, but alive. But worst of all, in their absence the shard caern had been fully desecrated and turned completely into a Pit. He told Avery he had heard about another group of Garou in Tampa, but he needed to return home to the north for now. Avery mentioned that they had to tell the stories of their fallen comrades, that their songs should never be allowed to be lost to time. It was then that he dubbed them “Speaks for the Dead” and they finally got their deed name. -In 2021 attended the gathering at Petersburg, Alaska of the Alliance and their allies to embark on quests to get answers and aid in dealing with the Weaver and Weaver taint (MES Summer ONE 2021). Speaks took part in the Wolfhome quest lead by Jarl Warborn, and helped make sure the cubs and everyone who went on the quest came back in one piece. Together the Wolfhome group communed with some of the "First Wolves" and the old and wise spirits there, and with their aid changed the gift "Sense the Balance" to also be able to sense the level of influence the Weaver has over an individual, this change applies to the entire gift and all who know it gain the benefit. Speaks and some of the others also took the time to learn the gift out of auspice -In 2021 attended the Grand Concolation at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge (MESCon Online 2021). Speaks and their friend, the Ratkin Ward "Vengeance for the Fallen", were two of those who called for the Weaver to be declared an official enemy just like the Wyrm. This motion was successfully passed
