The Phoenix area has seen quite the gamut of Kindred activity over the last century or so. It started back in 1881, when the Camarilla first established a Praxis in the blossoming city. Within a couple of decades, the Sabbat began constantly vying for control of the frontier location. As if that were not enough, the Anarch Movement carved out the area of Buckeye for their own in 1920.

Tensions between the Anarch Movement and the Camarilla spun on for several decades, finally coming to rest in 1980. All the while, the Sabbat were preparing for an assault - the attack came in 2001, weakening the city drastically. In 2011, the Camarilla aided the Anarchs in the assault on Tombstone. The battle was won, however both the Tower and the Movement suffered great losses.

As if this weren't enough - the Second Inquisition burned through Phoenix in 2014, targeting both the Anarchs and the Camarilla. Very few survivors were left. A clever Kindred by the name of Emanuel De Garza moved in quickly and consolidated his power to claim the city for the Independent Alliance in 2018.

Prince De Garza has spent the last two years calling in all the Independent Allance that he could to create a stronghold in the Southwest for the new Sect.

As part of his reign, he has started the tradition of the Independence Night. This is a celebration held every year on July 21st to commemrorate the founding of the Phoenix court and the continued freedom that all Independent Allance members live in. All are welcome at this event, including outsiders so long as they abide by the sect and domain laws.

His belief is that everyone should be able to see and experience the Freedom that the Independent Allance provides, if even only for a night.
