Description

Ezekiel appears to be a man in his mid-30s with dark brown hair that he keeps slicked back. He is almost always seen wearing business attire, with slacks and a button-up shirt, though he rarely wears ties or suit jackets.

Timeline

• Born: February 10, 1932
  • Was a bright child, but not a genius
  • Grew up to study a number of subjects as hobbies, though he went to college and studied psychology
  • Worked at the University of Iowa in administration after graduation; was aiming for a position as Dean in the 1960s
• Embraced: May 14, 1967
  • Embraced by Charles Hakstege (Played by Norman Burnosky; US2019090053), who is looking for an in at the University to obtain some difficult to access items stored there, and sees potential in Ezekiel
  • Ezekiel leaves his position with the University post-embrace, citing a real illness his mother contracted. In truth, this was because his Sire took him for his Accounting.
  • Ezekiel’s Accounting lasts 10 years, during which time he travels with Charles, studying a wide array of subjects and assisting the older vampire where requested.
• End of Accounting: 1977
  • After his Accounting ends, Ezekiel moves back to the Iowa City/Coralville area.
  • Knowing he cannot return to the University, he instead opens a small coffee shop/bookstore on the campus as a source of income.
  • Over time, Ezekiel gains a following among students, forming a sort of secret society (Herd) there.
• Mortal Father’s Death: 1998
  • When Ezekiel’s father passed away in 1998 at the age of 87, he inherited his parents’ estate, being their only child.
  • His father’s estate left him quite a bit of money, and some real estate that he was able to use as a secondary haven.
• Hunter Trouble Trouble: 2006-2014
  • In early 2006, during a trip to the Des Moines area for some business, Ezekiel met the elder Malkavian Athanasius (Played by David Fuller; US2003092225).
    • From Athanasius, he learns some Dementation, eventually going so far as to learn Eyes of Chaos, though the fact that they interact rarely means that it takes nearly 2 years before Ezekiel gains this ability.
  • As the Second Inquisition rose to power in 2011, he was unable to avoid the attention of some hunters, who discovered that he was a vampire. Ezekiel was forced to flee in November of that year as they closed in.
    • He moved around for a time but eventually settled in the Des Moines area in early 2012, as he knew other Kindred there.
  • Once he settled in Des Moines, he returned to Athanasius and explained his situation, looking for a friend.
  • He sets himself up in Des Moines, but lays low here for a time, hoping to avoid the attention of the Second Inquisition hunters.
• ‘Power’ Granted: 2014+
  • In 2014, as the Kindred of Des Moines seek to rebuild from the Second Inqusition, Athanasius’s family, the only Camarilla vampires who’d survived the hunters initial wave of killings in 2011 in Des Moines, give over the position of Prince to Ezekiel.
    • It is unclear whether they meant this as a joke, being Malkavians, but Ezekiel takes it as recognition of his natural right to rule as a Ventrue, given that Athanasius claims he hasn’t told his family of Ezekiel’s change.
    • Ezekiel initially does little with the position besides work with the other Kindred factions in the city to set up domains. He bides his time, working in the background to up the Tower as the true power in the city instead.
  • 2014 was the city’s first historical game, so everything after this took place in actual historical games, and so is excluded from this document.
