Timeline
- Seraphina (Sera) Quinn was born on May 29 1990 (location TBD) to her mortal mother and her thin-blooded Ravnos father. Having left upon learning about the baby, her father has never been a part of her life, leaving her mother to figure out how to raise a child on her own. If that wasn't enough of a struggle, this child just so happened to have fangs and a strange fascination with blood.
Location of younger years currently left open to make ties with childhood friends in the form of ghouls, other Dhampir, young vampires, etc.
- As Seraphina grew older, her mother became more alarmed by her inability to keep up with her daughter's odder behaviors, not to mention the way she seemed to simply disappear without a trace at times or the way she could never seem to win an argument with her if Sera really wanted her way. If that wasn’t enough to deal with, Sera also displayed a high level of intelligence that often made her hard to entertain or keep busy before she got into some kind of trouble or went poking her nose into places it didn’t belong.
- Sera graduated High School shortly after turning seventeen, immediately beginning her first foray into college courses with a focus on business and accounting. The courses were tedious and boring, and didn’t take up nearly enough of her focus or energy, and soon Sera was going out partying on the regular when she’d gotten too far ahead in her classes to be able to keep working. It was during this time that she had her first knowing encounter with a vampire.
Seeking tie for the first vampire Sera met.
- After this first encounter, Sera was left with a need to learn more about vampiric society and these strange individuals who made her feel a bit less out of place. Perhaps a bit naive in her methods at first, Sera went seeking them out, trying to find them in the places that every urban fantasy and trashy vampire romance novel had told her these people hung around. Night clubs, old creepy houses, and so on. Some of these attempts to find others led her to occult meetings where she quickly learned that she had to hide the odd things about herself even among these curious individuals lest she end up being the newest object of their curiosity - a position that wasn’t always the most friendly place to be.
More places for ties with others she may have encountered during this bit of searching.
- As her mother realized that Sera had begun to pick up some understanding about the strange abilities that coursed through her blood, she finally revealed the suspicions she’d long had about the nature of Sera’s father. Bewildered at the idea that such a thing was even possible, Sera’s curiosity was only driven further and she began taking her search wider, traveling throughout the country as she continued her studies online so that she could be afforded more freedom in her mission to find other vampires who might be more welcoming of her presence and willing to teach her a bit about their society.
- Unfortunately, Sera would quickly learn that not all vampires were inclined to tolerate her presence; some even harbored a hatred or fear of her existence that put her in direct threat as soon as they discovered the nature of what she was. It was shortly after one such encounter that Sera first found herself turning to a vampire for protection from others. This was also when she learned of the reasons for the hatred and fear some vampires harbored for the rare half-bloods like herself.
Seeking someone(s) to fill one or both of these roles.
- Sera was much more careful after this encounter, and kept in mind that those of the Tower or Camarilla may be quick to harm her if given the opportunity because of the beliefs so many of them seemed to hold about her existence. The Anarch Movement seemed to be more inclined to welcome her and others like her. She heard the occasional whispers or rumors about a group of monstrous vampires known as the Sabbat, but decided it may be best to just avoid these entirely whenever possible. And then there were the Independent Alliance and those who did not belong to any of these groups, both of which left her with more questions than answers.
- By the time Sera was in her early twenties, she’d finished her first degrees and moved on to new educational topics. Over the years since, she’s pursued an education in other languages, Law, Real Estate, Astronomy, Software Development and Programming, and some minor education in various other areas. All of this has served as more of a backdrop to her life, though, as she has continued to seek out more information on what she’s come to realize makes up the other half of who - no, what - she is.
- It was around this same time, though, that everything seemed to take a solidly bad turn for vampire society. Not only had they suddenly lost many of the oldest members of their society to something many of them began referring to as The Beckoning, but then came the hunters. Not one or two but entire cells of them that brought down groups of vampires in droves and sent them into hiding even more than before.
- Sera realized this was a time in which she could provide some real help to those vampires who did right by her, though, and much of her more practical education was aimed toward expanding the ways in which she could do so. She began picking up the skills and aptitude to be able to help vampires disappear among mortal society with all the proper documentation to make their holdings seem entirely normal even to the more keen hunters. In return, she enjoyed payment in various ways - whether it be extra cash toward her living expenses, payments toward her continued education, supporting her occasional need for a bit of medical help when she managed to get hurt more than her body could quickly repair on its own, etc.
- In all this time, she has continued to keep an ear out for anyone who might match the description her mother has given of her father as well. What exactly she might say to him if she were ever to find him, she has absolutely no idea, though she’s certainly thought about it several times over the years. Perhaps this pursuit is part of why she’s traveled so much over the years and visited so many different vampiric-habitated locales.
- Most recently, Sera has found herself settling into the Raleigh area. Here, the party lines seem a bit more blurred than elsewhere, and the different vampiric groups seem to have a sort of odd truce in which they work together toward mutual needs but otherwise don’t pay each other as much mind. She’s managed to establish a bit of a working relationship with some of the locals - particularly an Elder Giovanni by the name of Giacomo Rossellini who, while he absolutely creeps her out at times, has been fairly generous in his payment for her work and assistance and provides a safe haven where she generally knows others will not dare step too far lest they end up on the wrong side of an Elder who’s managed to survive the recent years of turmoil through his carefully cultivated connections, not to mention his terrifying control of the dead.

Quotes
- "I’ll put aside the dramatic stories, as I admit they are extreme examples. The truth is, your life is usually not at stake. But your reputation is, relationships are, and your mental well-being is. Sera is unbreakable when she sets out to a task, and does not disappoint, nor does she fail." - Ahau Cadmael
- "What a useful person to know. Although curious, gives me a question to find the answer to" - Chad Perry
- "She has a good heart. She forgave me when she heard the truth, and I owe her for that. I just hope she doesn't believe lies as easily." - Laszlo Tisza
