Prestige Location Qualities
Fancy
Affordable meeting space, trendy restaurants and businesses, and a cultural touchstone for the area draw up-and-coming professionals, city functionaries and staff, and the societal elite of the Little Apple to visit the Blue Earth Plaza for hobnobbing, business deals, and sundry other activities.
Hangout
In addition to the excellent dining and numerous hotels and the Discovery Center, the greenspace park at the center of the plaza attracts plenty of additional foot traffic. The canopied plaza area, with brick mosaics and 24 hour internet radio is fun in any season: during the summer, various small water works and a splash pad jet and bubble for families to come and play in, and during the winter the centralized gas fireplace is kept lit to add a cozy quality for visitors.
Culture Center (Historic)
Downtown Manhattan is a historical locale full of buildings carefully restored and preserved to maintain the small town feel while allowing the city to grow. The Blue Earth Plaza, while almost entirely new construction, is part of the downtown district and is also home to the Flint Hills Discovery Center. The Discovery Center, with its terraces, trail, classes, and exhibits offers a wealth of knowledge to children and their families, especially on topics like the Flint Hills and the prairies of Kansas.
Location
All of the foot traffic brought in by the various businesses, spaces, and more, would be enough to make the Blue Earth Plaza a high-profile location in the Little Apple. Adding to the prestige and cultural nature of the area are various seasonal festivities including fairs, carnivals, a farmers' market, and a winter celebration called the Festival of Lights. There is always something going on in the Blue Earth Plaza!
Blue Earth Place
Blue Earth Place is a medium sized building on the southern edge of the Blue Earth Plaza and plays host to a variety of local businesses on the ground floor, units rented as apartments and office spaces on the second floor, and luxury apartments on the top with balconies and rooftop garden space.
The building is known to be the property of a young man, rich from inherited dot-com boom money, who swooped in and purchased the building when Manhattan's real estate market bottomed out after the decommissioning of Fort Riley. While the owner is reticent to step too far into the limelight of the public eye, rumor has it that he has sunk an extraordinary amount of his fortune into the community and is renting spaces in the Blue Earth building with a focus on local businesses at remarkably generous rates.
Haven
The top floor of the Blue Earth building is not rented publicly, though the illusion of such rentals is carefully maintained. Instead, all of the luxury apartments are the sole property of Dr. Trevisani and used to house members of the Green Carnation Club, the Chain Breakers, or other guests.
Individuals invested in the Blue Earth Place have found a stout Firewall in place, adding an additional layer of security to technology brought into the building.
