- 1990 - Mercedes graduates at the top of her class, with a full scholarship to UMKC and UMKC Medical School.

Originally from the suburbs of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Mercedes lost her parents and younger brother in a horrific fire.
When she finally obtained her Doctorate in Medicine in 2000, what was supposed to be an invitation to a celebratory gathering with the other MDs turned out to be a shovelhead party. Mercedes was hit on the head and woke up (Hours? Days?) later with a gnawing hunger.
It didn't take long for the Sabbat to swoop down on Mercedes and her fellow newly embraced Shovelheads. The first year was a whirlwind of hunger and blood, but eventually, Mercedes' brilliance was acknowledged. She was approached by the Lasombra, Vikki Moore. Vikki was putting together a new pack, and she wanted Mercedes as a part of it. Mercedes was a member of the Crimson Queens for more than a decade and under Vikki's guidance, Mercedes became the woman she is today.
When the Sabbat disappeared, for her own reasons, Mercedes did not join them.
