Pre-embrace Backstory: Born in Manhattan but moved when he was very young. Grew up as an army brat, he was never able to set down roots as he was always moving. The only real constant in his life was his obsession with Greek mythology. His Dad was deployed to an icebreaker when he was 14, with no one else to take care of him he was left with a family friend, Vassilis. Vassilis was the antithesis of his fathers regimented discipline, which was exactly what Demitri needed. Demitri learned Greek through the constant Rebetiko music in the house, and from the words Vassilis muttered under his breath when working on a project. After dropping out of highschool, Demitri shadowed Vassilis on his odd jobs, learning every craft under sun and some, like lock picking, not meant for the light of day. When he came out as trans, Vassilis was the one to suggest the name Demitri, and when Demitri moved out it was Vassilis last name Papadopoulos that he used as his own. Demitri set to wandering the world in his van, going from city to city meeting other pagans and growing his knowledge about his religion and the occult at large.
Post-embrace Backstory:
Got turned by a Tremer somewhere near Bear Mountain in NY.
He doesn’t remember much of anything about his actual embrace. He remembers pulling his van over to watch the sunset. Then the next thing he remembers is waking up covered in blood at the top of a mountain a mile away from his van.
He has no information on his sire, so he’s been traveling around trying to figure out what happened to him.
He ran into a few other Kindred on the road who let him know that NYC would be a good place to look for answers.
