The Sidhe of House Scathach refuse all claim to titles except during times of dire need. Most commoners thus greatly respect the nobles of House Scathach. Even though these Sidhe do not hold their titles in name, they lead by example and thus win loyalty and honor.

Lore

This house is named for the most famous of warriors, Scathach, who was born of the goddess Morrigan and the God Dagda. When her parents disappeared from the Autumn World, they sent her to live with the mortals, using an entourage of Fuath who were still loyal to the Morrigan to assist in her training. Scathach grew up among mortals and while her house initially tried to rule as tradition dictated, they found themselves uncomfortable with controlling others’ destinies. The members of her house were the first nobles to undergo the Changeling Way. Some nobles followed her in this path while others fled to Arcadia.

The Scathach created strong ties to the mortal world. They lived among the humans and commoners for most of their existence, turning down offers of entitlement. The other Sidhe view them with suspicion, but the Scathach know that power is more than a pretty crown and that commoners survived through something that would have broken the nobles. Even taking an offer of entitlement undermines their position in the house and among those they swear to serve and not control.

Features: Known as the Grey Wardens, the Scathach dress in monochromatic clothes. Other nobles look down on them due to their ties to mortals, commoners, and the prodigals. However, what the monarchy sees as a weakness, the Scathach see as a boon. They learn much from the other groups — they are the fiercest of warriors, taking styles learned from all of those close allies and blending them into a deadly art. However, the Scathach are plainer than their Sidhe kin, and are distinctive for being completely silent during combat, as if in a trance.
