Caspian has an obviously artificial left leg. And beneath the cloak he always wears one can see rainbow-colored wings. However, they look both too small to fly and badly broken.
History
Caspian claims to be unusual for a Sidhe.
His mother was a Sidhe Alill Baroness of the Shadow Court from the Kingdom of Pacifics who with a small group of retainers went deep into the dreaming on some mission of import. Caspian claims that according to his mother, she took for a lover her Nocker companion. and that they were in the deep dreaming long enough for her to have given birth to Caspian.
(Caspian believes that was part of the mission. That he was born to carry something out of the dreaming. But he refuses now to speak of it)
His mother, Beatrice, was American Nobility - of that class of rich white folk who think themselves nobles. So it was a disgrace for her to come back home with a child. She was immediately married off to another rich white man. Mortally, she had studied to become a Nurse, and had taken up that role. When Caspian was 12, his step-father had become abusive. Finally, angered that Caspian would rip holes in his shirts (to allow for his chimerical wings, back then they could fly - but never where the unenchanted could see) and act like he was better than him (because sidhe noble) He picked up the fireplace poker and went to attack Caspian - Beatrice interfered, and was beaten to death before the boy. Caspian acted on instinct and fled through a trod that had been set up as an emergency exit.
He found himself in the Barony of Freedom's Trail, in the Duchy of Pewter. There he was adopted by Shae Paendrag, and met his best friend - a childling Sluah named Sammy.
Sadly, he lost them all.
As of the beginning of the Endless Winter, he was but 16 years old. Many of the nobles of the Kingdom of Apples decided to flee Autumn Earth, and built a gateway to the deep dreaming. When they passed through, their fae souls returned to Arcadia. Their bodies however lay lifeless on the ground. Shae Paendrag and her husband chose to take Caspian into the Deep with them.
Alas, what no one expected is that for the Fae who were not on the changeling way, they would leave their bodies behind - comatose, insensate as the bodies had no souls. Caspian, however, was born onto the changeling way. Instead of leaving Autumn behind, he awoke to find himself in a pile of unconscious, comatose adults.
He's been in mourning ever since.
As of the Grand Faire and Yuletide Ball, Caspian would be 34, and is still dressed in mourning
