Description
Cedar Ayleward is a newly-embraced Toreador with a nervous and gentle disposition, who makes a living ghostwriting for politically powerful Kindred. He lives quietly and comfortably with his sphinx cat Khons in a small apartment in Midwood, Brooklyn. He is often anxious around his clientele, as his Sire used to facilitate communication, and overly trusting for the Kindred world. He doesn’t want to hurt anyone, and assumes others have similar intentions. He knows near to nothing about the Kindred world, but he’s ready to learn.
Timeline
- Cedar Ayleward was born Oct 1st, 2000, in Brooklyn, New York.
- He graduates with a Masters degree in creative writing and moves to Midwood, Brooklyn.
- He meets Vincent St. Claire, a Kindred art dealer, who offered him a more long-time stretch of employment writing descriptions of art pieces and small articles on artists for his business.
- He was at one point offered a small promotion, in which Vincent told him he had some high political connections and asked if Cedar would ghost write for them. Cedar accepted.
- Vincent, realizing the good work Cedar could do if he knew the Kindred world, broke the Masquerade. Cedar took this revelation and threw himself into his work to distract himself from the newfound fear he felt toward the world.
- On Dec. 10th, 2023 after more outstanding work, Vincent approached Cedar with another promotion, inviting him to come to his office in the middle of the night. When Cedar arrived, Vincent congratulated him and offered him more work and far better pay. Cedar accepted and was immediately Embraced.
- On Dec. 11th, Vincent hears through the grapevine that someone has it out for him (likely for his shady dealings), and goes into hiding in the city, cutting all contact with Cedar. Cedar is now alone, and knows no other Kindred.
- On Dec. 14th, 2023, Cedar wandered outside to try and get back to Vincent, who he had not been able to contact since being embraced. At some point, he was spotted by another Kindred. Both parties realized what the other was, and Cedar ran while the stranger gave chase. After the stranger caught up to Cedar he realized that Cedar was brand-new, an illegal Embrace, and had no idea what was going on. The kindred slowed down, introduced himself, and offered to help him.
