Sun-Bleached Bones

San Diego Independent Alliance

“Why did I come to San Diego? Why did any of you come? We came because we thought we saw an unusual opportunity here. We believed that everything pointed to this as the logical site for a great city and seaport. In short, we had faith in San Diego's future. We gave of our time and our strength and our means...to help develop our city, and naturally, our own fortunes. ... What is the matter with San Diego? Why is it not the metropolis and seaport that its geographical and other unique advantages entitle it to be? Why does San Diego always just miss the train, somehow?”

- John D. Spreckels

About

The city of San Diego has had a tenuous history of constantly changing power, and the latest - led by the Independent Alliance - is no different.

Gehenna came and went. The Sabbat has withdrawn. Prince Tara has disappeared. The Second Inquisition has risen. After the Beckoning, the Elders who had once controlled and protected this city are gone, leaving a vacuum of power ready to be filled.

Two clans have the oldest claim to San Diego - the Lasombra and the Tlacique, and they are now both powerful within the newest Sect. The Independent Alliance has grown, including a Lasombra line that has called San Diego their home since Spain’s first expedition. The Tlacique had already had a presence, with an established Ministry temple in San Ysidro.

After the formation of the Independent Alliance, Doña Benigma “Ma” Pisanob - through careful alignment of influence - took Domain while the Camarilla and the Movement receded. San Diego is theirs.

Three clans have the oldest claim to San Diego - the Lasombra, Ministry (the Tlacique), and Giovanni (Hidalgo and Pisanob). and they are now powerful within the world's newest Sect. The Independent Alliance has grown, including a Lasombra line that has called San Diego its home since Spain’s first expedition. The Lasombra, Giovanni, and Ministry have traveled here ahead of the Spanish. Though some Gangrel may be able to lay an earlier claim as well.

A small group of Camarilla-loyal kindred regroups in Encinitas, and a handful of unaligned and members of the Movement wander in the Northeast in Vista, Julian, Santee, Jamul, and Ramona. Within domains where the Independent Alliance is the ruling power, players can expect mostly CvE and social CvC as the clans vie for power.
