As the daughter of a sex worker and the 3rd oldest out of 8 sisters, even when mortal Cattarina knew how to struggle and fight for her own survival. Her life has been a series of small wins and major losses, but no matter the tragedy as long as Cattarina is still around she will continue to pick herself back up and continue moving forward.
A ruthless businesswoman and mafiosa, Cattarina always knows how to use her looks and intelligence to her advantage. Is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve her goals and is always on the lookout for promising means to further her goal of rising up in the Giovanni family. Has proven several times over that while she does still have the signature Puttanesca temper, and a penchant for arson, she's more than capable of putting her feelings aside for a time for the sake of The Family. However, for her, revenge is not a matter of "if" but a matter of "when".
Has started being haunted by the ghost of her mother Pelegrina in recent years as the restless spirit is still upset about Cattarina killing her and 4 of her own sisters. Cattarina refuses to be remorseful for her reactions to the situation and her mother refuses to be remorseful for being the one who put her in that situation to begin with. As they are ever at odds, it seems that the haunting will continue indefinitely. Not one to waste an opportunity though, Cattarina has recently been devoting her free time to studying necromancy solely to try and find ways to torment her mother even in the grave.
Has become somewhat overprotective of her right-hand man and favorite ghoul Matteo Tarabotti. As the last surviving member of her once prominent ghoul family, as well as the last direct descendant of her nephew Giotto, she is very serious about finding someone worthy to help him continue Giotto's bloodline. Until then, he will continue to serve and worship Cattarina as her "Cane Fedele", her loyal dog. Matteo never leaves her side and stays eternally loyal as her retainer, only wishing to be with her no matter what she wishes of him. He needn't worry though, as her absolute favorite pet since Giotto she has no plans of letting him go anytime soon.
"I heard she once ripped a neonate's fangs out just for insulting her branch of the family. She forced him to slowly starve in her wine cellar for almost a decade."
"I heard she once made two noblemen fight to the death for the right to be with her. Supposedly she took the winner to bed while the loser's corpse was still warm."
"Her beauty is so unparalleled within the family that it makes lesser, more jealously-minded members regularly go for her head."
"She regularly makes her ghouls fight to the death for sport. Feeds the losers to their own children."
"Whether it's killing, drinking, or flirting she always knows how to show someone a great time!"
"I hear she sells lockets with locks of her hair inside. Apparently, it can help someone 'get lucky'"
"She once threatened to kill a Rosselini because he stumbled into her drunk and broke her favorite necklace. Spent so long describing every gory detail of how she'd do it that he still suffers nightmares to this day."
"Heard there's a bidding war going for that pet ghoul of hers, apparently he's a 'rare commodity' nowadays or somethin'."
"Apparently she likes strays. that entire damn Vile Decina of hers is nothing but a bunch of abandoned ghouls who were left to rot by the Giovanni's"
"Tried to get close and soot my shot the last time she visited the office, but couldn't even get a full sentence out before that stronzo Carne Fedele kept cutting me off! I swear with the way he follows her around and growls at anyone who comes near he's almost more of a cagna than she is!"
