Diedrich Knickerbocker

Diedrich is a tall Dutchman with dark hair and dark eyes. A Ventrue through and through, whatever he wears has a certain dignity to it, be it black tie or body armor.

Mortal history

Born in 1624 under the name Pieter Van Stoutenburg, he was the scion of a powerful line of mortals with a long association with the Ventrue, often producing future Ventrue of note. The first recorded birth in New Amsterdam, he was the grandson of the founder of the Dutch East India Company, an organization built around the dark, vampire-worshiping blood cult of Pieter's mortal family. Groomed for the embrace since he was born, he was embraced in 1665 as the English took New Amsterdam.

Ventrue History

Pieter's sire, Nicodemus Lucre, visited New Amsterdam as previously scheduled, in order to embrace him. He spent a decade under Accounting. Once released and under Sabbat occupation, Pieter changed to his nom de guerre of Diedrich Knickerbocker, a name he has kept ever since. Remaining in New York City, Diedrich spent the centuries working as a sort of resistance guerilla fighter, using his vast influence and resources to make unlife for the Sabbat as hellish as possible.

As the jet age came into being, Diedrich began to travel, but spent the majority of his time in New York, fighting the good fight against the Sabbat.

When the Camarilla took back New York City, Diedrich's strategy and tactics had to change, but he saw his mission as no different. In modern nights, with the major political realignments taking place, he sees his role as a defender of the Camarilla order, a regime that ensures peace and stability so long as it isn't threatened.
