He was found as an abandoned child and placed into the care of Child Welfare services. Ended up bounced around the foster care system where Alex found his only true friends were books and the voices he heard later turning out to be wraiths as a medium. A chance experience of getting to shadow a professional worker for a day drew the boy into the interest of wanting to be an EMT. The fast pace, idea of saving a life, and everyday being a new adventure sealed his fate. He managed to get into college on a scholarship due to his test scores where he began to pursue his career along with studying other aspects of biological and chemistry fields. One afternoon changed his life in the blink of an eye. He saved a child from being a hit and run accident to ending up being the one hit bleeding out in the street. Seam happened to witness the event stabilizing the boy realizing he wasn't a normal human. He took him home to tend to as a Doctor. Upon recovery Alex decided to stay with Seam out of feeling he owed a life debt and willing to be a live in home care assistant to the crippled doctor. Later the truth came out. By that time Alex realized he was in deep as those special friends he heard turned out to be spirits as his true nature was revealed.
