Timothy "Long Knife" Carpenter

Even at a young age, Timothy Carpenter was trouble. He nearly beat a boy to death at the age of 12 over some trivial slight. He joined the Army as a scout when he was 18. The disciple of the Army life did little to subdue his temper. He earned a reputation for starting fights with locals and superiors alike and more than once used his bowie knife, the weapon by which he earned his nick name, to threaten his opponent. It wasn't long before he was discharged for the military.

He was then hired by the Hamilton Dalton Agency, a security firm and rival of the Pinkertons. In 1852, he found himself attached to a small trading outpost on the Spokane River. His service become problematic when it was discovered that he was causing trouble with the local Spokane tribe and he again found himself out of a job. He stayed in the area living off the land and continuing to harass native and settlers alike.

As tensions increased between the tribes and settlers, Timothy began the horrid business of selling scalps. It was this that led to his eventual embrace.

In the summer of 1856, Carpenter was apprehended by a band of Spokane natives while he was in the possession of nearly a dozen scalps. Their shaman decided that death was too gentle for him. The shaman knew of a certain witch that they had curried favor with and asked her to lay a curse on Carpenter. Rebecah Kennon knew how to handle this petty little trouble maker. She told them they should offer him up to the Mountain Beast. Timothy was staked out and the witch summoned Beast, a Gangrel elder she'd dealt with in the past.

Timothy was embraced and remanded to her custody. He spent the next 15 years with her acting as her body guard and occasionally settling scores. During this time, Spokane became a small city. The discovery of gold and other minerals in the area drew hundreds of prospectors seeking their fortune and with them more of kindred. Timothy took to hunting the mining and timber camps usually in the form of a mountain lion. He had also developed the technique of Translocation and would often "blink" in and out of the camp. This earned him a new nick name; the Wraith.

Maintaining the Masquerade had always been difficult for Timothy. He method of feeding lacked the gentle "kiss" of his kind, his blood line cause an extremely feline appearance, and his very presence set mortals on alert to danger. Although he doesn't purposely kill his prey, they are often left in a state of terror and report being attacked by some wild beast. This made him very unpopular with the Camarilla rulers of the city and he was often the target of ridicule and rebuke.

When the Anarchs entered the city during the Labor Revolution following WWI, he left the Tower to fight against them. Although he still keeps in contact with the witch, Rebecah, and still owes her several minor boons, his is very antagonistic to the concept of the Tower.
