She was born in 1927 in Chatteroy, WV. Born to a coal-minor and his wife, Effie was number 5 in a family of 8 children. Being the only girl, she quickly adapted to the rough and tumble lifestyle with her brothers. Always the hard worker, she attracted the eye of her Sire and in 1956 was embraced.
