[OOC: abbreviated from an email sent to the Chicago IC email list on 2024-03-25, itself reiterating an in-person announcement two days previously]

We are the Pietas Dynasty. Please note two things: First, pietas is that virtue covering all forms of piety, whether religious, civic, familial, or other. (I choose "familial" over "filial" because I do feel that respect should go both ways.) Second, this is not intended to indicate any form of inherited position, merely a line of descent.

That being said, I would be remiss in my own familial piety if I did not make certain pronouncements regarding the good character of my descendents:

• My grandchilde and pontifex between myself and the younger generations is Pretender Elder Lula. As I am Established, I recognize that she is Favored by me for her services, and as I am the Authority, I declare her to be Honorable.

• My great-grandchilde and deadliest of snakes is Ophelia, a Ministry Caitiff whom I acknowledge as one of my and my clan's own. As I am the Authority, I recognize that she is Courageous in the face of danger, and as I am Prominent, I declare her to be Courteous.
