Grandmother is a Boggan of Legend thought to be as old as the hills themselves. Although that could not possibly be true (could it?). Known as the keeper of a forgotten Balefire; Grandmother’s Hearth. Grandmother’s House is a place for all in need regardless of Kith or Court. All mundane or magical that find themselves in need can find aid at Grandmother’s with nothing asked but to leave in peace. Grandmother will take no sides in conflict, but woe to they who bring conflict across Grandmother’s threshold.
Grandmother is thought to be ageless. She has been tending the Balefire in what is now Princeton NJ for as long as anyone can remember.
Grandmother is nearly 300 years old, Sometime in the mid 1700’s Grandmother saved (stole) the flickering embers of a forgotten Balefire and came to the Americas with German settlers. She landed in Jamestown with little more than the old lantern which held the Balefire embers, the clothes on her back and a suckling goat. She traveled into the countryside aided only by the ancient Fae of this “New World”. Even Grandmother herself could no longer tell you why she settled in the place that would one day be known as Princeton; but it was here that she stayed and lit the Balefire embers.
It is unknown what Grandmother has seen but she is known to be strictly neutral in all conflicts that have arisen.
