Keiran Jackson was born in Kansas City, Missouri – you know the good side. The side you can actually live without getting shot. His mother was a Corax spy for most of her career but around when Keiran was 3 took up more of an assassin mantle. Having given the Rite of the Spirit Egg to him herself, she knew he was destined to be a Corax. He was thusly homeschooled all his life with focuses on what most homeschoolers would consider abnormal: physical activity, hand-to-hand combat, but mostly knife throwing. The more interesting schooling came whenever his mother was home from business trips; his father helped ensure that the normal subjects any other student would be taught, got through his head. Throughout his childhood, his mother and father told him fables and tales they knew before bed. Only later did Keiran found out that these were tales of shifters and their history rebranded so a child’s open mouth would not reveal their secrets. The moment of his first change was far earlier than anyone expected. During his birthday dinner, he first changed. Thankfully, his mother was there and quickly handled the situation.
He was then introduced to the Sept of Gaia’s Grace as a brand new “cub”. Though for not terribly long as quickly the long years of preparation his mother had done showed in the knowledge and basic skills of Keiran. Barely six months had passed before he gave his honest answer to if he thought he was ready to be a Cliath. Yes, in fact, I don’t even need these other people to help. The Master of Challenge - “Strikes the Falcon”- believing this to be an unfortunate miscalculation, decided to let him learn. So gave him the task – thinking it accomplishable by someone so young – to go locate and kill a gang leader that fled to downtown Kansas City Keiran takes out the gang leader and while debating which feather to leave, whether or not to pluck out his eyes, while in Harpea, in walks Dakota Shepard ( Rachel Fakih. US2015020017). High as a kite, pizza in hand. Offering it to the bird man. THE BIRD MAN! My god. She’s lucky she’s funny; not cute though. Whatever, the drugs prevented the Veil breach.
Thus after completing the challenge (that was meant to be a lesson as “Strikes the Falcon” was on the sidelines waiting for the cub to fail and teach him a lesson after cleaning up the mess), he earned the deed name “Calling Card.” His feather leaving a police force very confused; the “Crow Killer” is still at large. And the gang who lost their leader is still looking for the murder. And after all of that, Keiran decided he wanted to be an assassin when he grew up, just like his mother. Still climbing – or flying – ever higher, as soon as Calling Card could challenge, he did. A mere 6 months later. And he did it.
He was about to start his new assassin career in 2005 when, fucky fuck fuck fuck. Why is there a shark drowning a garou? Oh I have to cover this shit don’t I? Uh….. yeah beach umbrellas, only thing I got. And that is how Calling Card met Brody (Lance [Last Name] [member number]) and Dakota (again) [see these character backgrounds for further details of what they care about]. Calling Card throughout the next couple of years went on many assassination jobs, developing a coping mechanism of going emotionless.
Calling Card was on site during the Fall of Gaia’s Grace. Seeing Float’s the Rock, the man who trained him from being a cub to through being a foster all those years ago. Seeing him splayed out, decapitated, and seemingly forced to watch the kinfolk burn in their houses. To say it affected Calling Card is an understatement. A big understatement. Maybe he didn’t show it then but going emotionless; saving several kinfolk. But it broke him in a way.
Then came the Call. The wound of the loss of the Sept was still so fresh. How many people did he have to fucking lose?! Well, one less than the world tried to take. His mother, his father, gone. Friend at the station who knows where? But he did find Jenny. His kinfolk who obtained contracts of assassination. Not today world, not letting you fuck up anything more in my fucking life. [contact player for more specifics on Jenny] And maybe, just maybe, it was the start of new feelings and care for her. More than a professional interest. But that is a story left to be told.
