Born the only child of a British lord, Juliet grew up alone, spoiled, and chafing under the restrictions society placed on women.
Shortly after her 15th birthday she attempted suicide. When her father locked her into his estate to prevent further attempts, this only amplified her desire to die and escape the restrictions placed upon her. Even a hasty arranged marriage could not keep down her suicidal longing.
Her encroaching madness attracted the attention of a Malkavian in the service of Seren, the baroness of Gloucester. He offered her the possibility of an unlife without gender restrictions and she eagerly accepted.
