Further Information
Sor Maria always wears an all-black nun's habit, with a veil that hides her eyes. What is visible of her face is eerily beautiful, often showing a beatific smile while committing atrocities, and she inspires a mix of terror and awe reminiscent of biblical angels [Appearance Focus, Angelic Visage, Obvious Predator, Eerie Presence]. Fanatically devoted to both the mission of the Sabbat and the Path of Night, Sor Maria was granted her position for her talent as a confessor and ritualist [Trusted Confessor, Sanctified]; as "Bishop of the Chant" for Atlantic City, she is in charge of spirituality, as well as information collection and security via mystical means. Being an Abyss Mystic, she is often accompanied by a shadow-creature companion that vaguely resembles a cat, but with tentacles.
Sor is the Spanish term of address for a nun (i.e. "Sister"), and Magdalena is properly the second word of her first name; it is appropriate to address her as either Sor/Sister Maria or Bishop/Obispa Maria.
- circa 1805: born, as Isabella Moreno, to minor Spanish nobility in Madrid
- 1821: forced into a convent by her family, takes the veil as Sor Maria Magdalena
- 1823: ghouled by Padre Francisco, an Ancilla of the Lasombra, who has had himself appointed Confessor for the convent to subvert the Camarilla Ventrue who has official control over it
- 1829: Embraced by Padre Francisco and trained in the basics of Abyss Mysticism; he has a ghoul made Abbess and handed over to Sor Maria's control
- early 1830s: Sor Maria and her puppet Abbess, under Padre Francisco's direction, turn the convent into a brothel in a plot to undermine the Ventrue official
- 1834: Forewarned of the Sabbat's plan to incite riots, Sor Maria uses her puppet Abbess to set a trap for the Ventrue official. When the riots happen on July 17th, she springs the trap - diablerizing him, setting the convent on fire, and fleeing through the Abyss to Cadiz, where the Ex Tenebris is waiting to serve as her and Padre Francisco's escape route. Padre Francisco never arrives, and the then-Quartermaster makes the call to leave without him; he grants Sor Maria the Creation Rite and takes over her training in Abyss Mysticism and Sabbat Ritae.
- circa 1900: the previous Quartermaster leaves the ship to become a Bishop, and Sor Maria ascends to the position.
- 1999: the Ex Tenebris and its crew participate in the Battle of New York [pending VIP]
- 2012: the pack participates in the Grand Crusade, taking a front line role alongside the pack of Temnoch himself due to Sor Maria Courageously volunteering the pack to do so at the Palla Grande.
- 2018: The pack participates in the taking of Atlantic City, overthrowing Giovanni control of the lighthouse. Sor Maria is made the Bishop of the Chant when the victors form their new government.
