The Challenge for Cliath of Hauru Varnas Denparent: Seamster Elder Witnesses to the Challenge: Gerald Werner Deed name: Warborn Tribe: Get of Fenris Rank: Athro Alex Knight Tribe: Glasswalker Rank: Cliath May the challenge begin.... Every Journey begins with a challenge to overcome, a destination to reach, a purpose to serve. That time of calling came to Hauru to seek out the Den Parent Seamster to issue the challenge to step beyond Cub to Cliath. Her challenge was set to understand how different tribes wage battle upon the field in defense of Gaia and how her own skills stand upon the field. Her first opponent was myself. A proper gentlemen always asks a lady to dance to give them the chance to show how well they can dance the field of battle to strike, dodge, or take the blows that come. The dance was a dazzling display of axe wielding looking for an opening to get close enough to strike me and avoid the bolts of electricity seeking to find purchase. I fear I may be needing a new set of armor after this Fenrir showed me the Teeth Loki gave her. In turn I taught her that Odin's bolts do leave a burn if one isn't nimble enough. I called the battle satisfied with her battle prowess deciding I could give her knowledge as my gift to her advancement. The gift, the advice to perhaps seek to turn her beloved Axe into a Fetish. Her next opponent was Jarl Gerald. A fierce battle to witness of Fenrir vs Fenrir. I dare say for a cub this is the one to watch in the years to come. Gerald strode forward brandishing his spear sizing up the cub then one could of sworn the horn of the feasting hall was heard or perhaps my ears deceive me as the sudden clash of axe vs spear as the two Fenrir met. Never have I expected to see such a battle waged by one so young and yet so determined to fight as hard as she was. The Jarl was not holding back with his swings of the spear. Every motion smooth, precise, looking for an opening, a deception of thrust, a strike that could render a foe dead to teach the cub what she was facing to defend Gaia. Then something happened. Perhaps she heard her ancestors singing in her blood, perhaps her own struggles of the past flashing before her eyes, whatever it was, we saw a change come upon the cub. The shift in how she held herself, her weapon, and more importantly what mattered in her heart. We witnessed a cub becoming a Cliath before our eyes as her attacks became fierce, driven, a purpose she must meet at any cost. The clash of steel became louder the Jarl finding himself suddenly against not a cub but a daughter of Odin determined to take her seat among the table of Fenrir. Her axe strikes finding ways to slip past the Jarl's defenses driving him back, scoring blows, until realization came upon a field of battle one must win and the other yield. This day, the field belonged to Hauru. No longer a cub but a daughter of Fenrir earning the Deed name Axe beats Spear. May her journey continue to be with glory and wisdom to one day perhaps teach future generations how to find their own inner strength.
